The Wisconsin Badgers face the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Maui Invitational Finals at the Lahaina Civic Center on Wednesday. Here’s all you need to watch.

Despite key losses on their roster and a devastating defeat in the title game, the North Carolina Tar Heels might be the most impressive team in college basketball early on. While their level of competition hasn’t been great, Roy Williams’ team has been dominant. They’ve mowed through the Maui Jim Maui Invitational. On Wednesday at the Lahaina Civic Center, they have the chance to finish it off against the Wisconsin Badgers in the tournament Final.

Losing Marcus Paige and Brice Johnson would seemingly cripple a team. However, the Tar Heels have perhaps gotten better. The emergence of Joel Berry II and Justin Jackson has been a big part of that. So too has the much improved play of big men Kennedy Meeks and Isaiah Hicks. Now if they can consistently get sophomore Kenny Williams, freshman Tony Bradley, and freshman Seventh Woods to contribute, this team has a chance to return to a National Championship Game.

Wisconsin is no slouch, though, as they’ve looked good all season and out in Maui. Bronson Koenig has been big time for the Badgers, but the emergence of Ethan Happ has been critical for this team as well in their first full season without Bo Ryan. However, they’ve yet to face a team like North Carolina. Thus, it’ll be interesting to see how they fare.

One programming note for this game is that it is on the ESPN schedule at 9:30 p.m. ET. However, the third-place game will be played immediately prior with a 30-minute break in-between.
