It’s hard to believe that the Baylor Bears were one of the best teams in college football a month ago. The Bears were 6-0 and ranked No. 6 in the country, but they have since dropped four straight games and are now an afterthought in the Big 12 title race.

Losing Seth Russell early for the second straight season has been devastating, and you have to wonder if he will be completely healthy when he returns next season. If he is, he could be one of the best quarterbacks in the conference .

Terence Williams and Shock Linwood have made for a dynamic duo in the backfield, while KD Cannon has been an electric receiver for an otherwise disappointing team. The curse of Art Briles is in full effect.

Texas Tech has been one of the biggest disappointments in the Big 12, losing seven games and missing out on a bowl this season. Kliff Kingsbury has one of the best offensive teams in the country yet again but the Red Raiders have very few wins to show for it.

Patrick Mahomes is one of the most potent quarterbacks in the country, passing for 4,466 yards and 44 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. He has been one of the major bright spots on a team that has no run game.

The junior quarterback’s top target has been Jonathan Giles who has really broken out for over 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns on 65 catches this year. Four other receivers have at least 40 receptions on the season.
