The Chiefs struck first with an 86-yard kickoff return by Tyreek Hill following a safety by the Denver Broncos.

Defensive back Eric Berry may have delivered the first big blow of the evening, but receiver Tyreek Hill definitely handled the second one.

Shortly after linebacker Justin Houston recorded his third sack of the night that resulted in a safety, Hill took the free kick 86 yards to the house. Once he hit the open field, it was a foot race to the endzone.

Houston’s safety was definitely the catalyst that made it all possible, earning his money in the first half with the three sacks on Trevor Siemian. In six football seasons, he has a career sack total of 56.

The separation he created from the pack was certainly no surprise. He recorded a 4.24 time in the 40-yard dash at his Pro Day. For those that are familiar, that puts him in the record books tied with the record holder, Chris Johnson.

The only person that was even close was his teammate and fellow receiver De’Anthony Thomas. They celebrated with a well-deserved high five as they crossed the plain at the same time.

More on FanSided:

The Kansas City Chiefs went two plays consecutive without putting the offense on the field and they scored twice. It’s always a competitive game when these two play each other, and tonight is no exception. The Kansas City defense is fired up, and doesn’t look as though they are going to let up anytime soon.

The Denver Broncos are currently leading in offensive yards, but they are certainly trailing in big plays that result in points on the board. They are going to have to find that much-needed momentum if they want to stop the Chiefs from their first-half dominance.

Maybe they will get the help they need from linebacker Von Miller, who is no stranger to rushing the quarterback either. He has 11 sacks on the season, and has been known to terrorize the backfield.
