The Texas Longhorns will introduce Tom Herman as the school’s next football head coach on Sunday. Find out where you can watch the introductory press conference online below.

It didn’t take long to announce a new coach after the Texas Longhorns fired Charlie Strong following another disappointing season. However, former University of Houston football head coach Tom Herman will be introduced on Sunday as Strong’s replacement.

Unlike many coaches who have succeeded at the college level, Herman has only been a college football head coach for two years. Yet, he quickly turned around a slumping Houston football side and put them on the national map. In 2015, Herman led the Cougars to their first American Athletic Conference title by defeating the Temple Owls 24–13 in the championship game. The 2015 season ended with a 38-24 Peach Bowl win over the ninth-ranked Florida State Seminoles.

Although Houston didn’t have as great of a season in 2016 compared to 2015, Herman’s side finished 9-3 in the regular season. The Cougars will definitely see themselves in a bowl game with most likely someone other than Herman in charge as they look to fill the void left by Herman’s exit.

Herman’s quick turnaround of the Houston program is encouraging for those at Texas. The pressure will be on as Texas finished 5-7 in Strong’s two years as head coach. It will be interesting to see if Herman brings any coaches from Houston with him.

Herman returns to the Longhorns football program after serving as a graduate assistant for the 1999 and 2000 seasons. Since then, Herman has worked his way up the coaching ladder and has certainly earned this position.
