New York Jets. 27. team. 30. Recap: Todd Bowles’ team hung around all day. But when it was all said and done, New York’s defense could not sack Tom Brady and the experienced quarterback picked them apart when it counted most. Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick played one of his better games in what has been an extremely disappointing season. He threw for 269 yards and connected for scores with wideouts Brandon Marshall and Quincy Enunwa. But the team’s ground attack failed to answer the bell as Matt Forte and company were held to only 64 yards rushing, with the Jets’ longest run of the contest a mere seven yards.
Next Week: New York gets an extra day to prepare for Andrew Luck (out in Week 12 against the Steelers) and the Indianapolis Colts. The teams play on Monday Night Football for the second consecutive year, this time at MetLife Stadium. Then again, Chuck Pagano’s club has even more prep time considering they played on Thanksgiving night.

Playoff hopes: Although not mathematically eliminated, it’s all over but the shouting for Bowles and company. A game effort against the Patriots came up short and now the team finds itself three games out of third place behind the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East. It adds up to another season of frustration for the Green and White.
. 3-8. Previous:
