Chris Paul hit Paul Pierce with a beautiful behind-the-back pass, but the NBA vet missed a wide open dunk in hilarious fashion.

The Los Angeles Clippers have been a well-oiled machine this year,  but that doesn’t mean that NBA vet Paul Pierce is on top of his game. Heck, the 39-year-old is looking as aged as ever lately and it was highlighted by a missed dunk on Tuesday night.

Since joining the Clippers, Pierce has been nothing more than a veteran presence off the bench, a good guy for the young players to have around. He’s filled with NBA wisdom and he knows what it takes to win championships.

Some were surprised he decided to come back for another year after averaging 6.1 points and 2.7 rebounds in 18 minutes per game last season. On Tuesday, he probably wished he was retired.

Just take a look at the beautiful pass by Chris Paul marred by an egregiously missed dunk by the player formerly known as The Truth.

Clearly the best part of the whole scenario was the fact that Paul went over to the out-of-breath Pierce and performed CPR. Nope, he’s not dead in the NBA just yet, but the old man needed some new life.

You have to give it up for Pierce, though. He’s playing professional basketball — sort of — at the age of 39 when guys like Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett have already retired. Not only that, but he has a chance to win another NBA title while sitting on the bench and getting paid with the Clippers.

Pierce has only played two games this season and is averaging 5.5 points. He might need a little burst of energy if he plans on making it through the rest of the year. The Truth isn’t what he used to be, but it’s good that he and CP3 can have fun with it.
