Marc Gasol makes one of the sickest passes of the season against the Orlando Magic on Thursday night.

Marc Gasol doesn’t have to do much to prove just how insanely talented he is for the Memphis Grizzlies. But his sick pass against the Orlando Magic on Thursday night might be the cherry on the top of a talented sundae.

With 5:52 left to go in the 2nd quarter, and with Memphis holding a 41-35 lead over the offensively challenged Magic, Grizzlies guard Troy Williams stripped the ball away from former Grizz Jeff Green. The ball skipped to Gasol, and instead of turning around, he made a sick behind the back pass to Williams, who was streaking towards the hoop.

Williams caught the pass in stride and went up for a two-handed slam, which sent the fans at the FedEx Forum, and the Fox Sports Tennessee announcers, into a frenzy.

It was a SportsCenter “Top 10” highlight, and the Grizzlies’ Twitter team made sure that the folks at SportsCenter got a look at this spectacular pass.

It was a highlight from a game that was looking like a bore fest until that point. The Grizzlies are trying to overcome both a disheartening loss to the Toronto Raptors from a night before and the crushing loss of point guard Mike Conley, who will be out for six-to-eight weeks for multiple lower back fractures.

So the Grizzlies are going to need every ounce of talent from Gasol to stay afloat in the ultra-tough Western Conference, which they may be able to do if Gasol continues to make plays like that.
