Joe Mixon scored a huge touchdown in the fourth quarter to clinch Oklahoma the Big 12, and the Bedlam Series, over Oklahoma State.

No Dede Westbrook, no problem. The Oklahoma Sooners have one of the best offenses in the country, and that was on full display in the Bedlam Series against Oklahoma State. Even when Westbrook went down, Baker Mayfield didn’t stop making big plays, but they relied heavily on their running back tandem.

For the better part of three quarters, Perine was dominant, but he suffered a nasty injury at the start of the fourth quarter when he fumbled the ball. That’s when Joe Mixon, who was used primarily as a pass-catcher, stepped up. It was a frustrating game for Oklahoma State, who couldn’t get anything going after that fumble recovery and missed a field goal. One play after that, Mixon did this:

"This is just ridiculous. 😮 Joe Mixon to the house! #Bedlam https://t.co/wJGZV6V6d0— FOX College Football (@CFBONFOX) December 3, 2016"

Perine got back into the game and went over the 200-yard rushing mark. Combined, Perine and Mixon ran for 305 yards and two touchdowns against the Cowboys.

People who criticize Bob Stoops for failing to win big games end up missing the point. He’s now got 10 Big 12 titles in 18 seasons, and that’s dominant no matter how you put it. And this season, he clinched the first ever perfect record in Big 12 history.

Although the Sooners have dominated the Bedlam Series, this was the first time in four games that the home team won. They simply wanted this game more than the Cowboys, and that showed on this big-play TD.

Everyone’s focused on the playoffs, but Oklahoma isn’t a team that anyone wants to play. Seeing them blow out a Top 10 team despite losing their wide receiver should serve as a warning to whoever awaits them in the Sugar Bowl. Their tandem of Mixon and Perine have also been just as important to this offense as Westbrook, which makes it impossible to figure out how to stop them on offense.

Starting next year, the Big 12 will have a Conference Championship game. But having won the Big 12 for the past two years, Oklahoma isn’t interested in giving it up at all.
