Trace McSorley hit Saeed Blacknall on a 70-yard touchdown to pull Penn State to within one score just one play after Wisconsin missed a field goal.

There’s a reason why Penn State vs. Wisconsin was such a compelling Big Ten title match. Wisconsin has got a great defense and underrated offense, while the opposite is true for Penn State. The Nittany Lions have also built a reputation of being a second half team, meaning that no lead is safe, including a 28-7 one.

After Wisconsin capitalized on a botched snap to score a touchdown, they missed a field goal. One play later, Trace McSorley connected with Saeed Blacknall for the second time on a 70-yard touchdown pass:

Within a few plays, the comeback was complete when Saquon Barkley punched it in from the goal line to tie it at 28. You simply can’t make a mistake against either of these teams.

ESPN Stats and Info reminded us how great Penn State’s second half points differential was — it’s the best in the country since the start of October. Wisconsin learned that the hard way:

Now, after being in control, they will need to rely on Bart Houston to win them this game, which is a lot easier said than done.

After Washington dominated Colorado in the Pac-12 Championship Game, many thought Wisconsin or Penn State had to win in blowout fashion to catch up to them. But if Penn State wins this game in comeback fashion, the playoff committee should reward them accordingly. This team has battled adversity all year long — not to mention that wins over Ohio State and Wisconsin would vastly outweigh Washington’s resume.

It’s the reason why Penn State has been one of the best stories in college football, and with the way they’re battling back, nobody wants to see it end.
