The New England Patriots pulverized the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday in Week 13, 26-10. New England improves to 10-2 on the season, while Los Angeles falls to 4-8 on the year.

The Patriots were expected to handle the Rams easily in their Week 13 game in frigid Foxborough. New England was a 13.5-point home favorite and still managed to cover the spread against the Rams by winning 26-10.

The Rams continue to show that they have by far and away the worst offense in football. Rookie quarterback Jared Goff deserves better than this archaic abomination the Rams have coaching the offensive side of the football. Head coach Jeff Fisher needs to be on the hot seat, but he just an extension for more 7-9 (or worse) football in Los Angeles. Unbelievable!

New England didn’t boat race the Rams, as Los Angeles is still solid on the defensive side of the ball. The Patriots managed 26 points mostly off Stephen Gostkowski’s right leg. He had four field goals and two extra points in this win over the Rams.

The good news for the Patriots in this game that they were expected to win is that they looked better on defense and can run the football. Both are crucial to their 2016 AFC Playoffs run. Holding the Rams offense to 10 points is a great start. Seeing LeGarrette Blount run like a Pro Bowler is even better.

Despite not having Rob Gronkowski, the New England offense did just fine against a strong Rams defense. It is really a shame that the Rams are this perpetually inept on offense. The have a playoff caliber defense and an offense that couldn’t compete at the bottom of the Big Ten West.

Three Stars

Three Stars

  1. LeGarrette Blount: Blount had 18 carries for 88 yards and an outstanding 43-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter. He really channeled his inner Marshawn Lynch on that play.
  2. Tom Brady: Brady was efficient in New England on Sunday against the Rams defense. He completed 33 of 46 passes for 269 yards and a touchdown. Not bad for not being at full strength.
  3. Kyle Van Noy: Van Noy was huge for the Patriots defense. He had five tackles, one solo, and an interception of Goff.
