High Salary PG

John Wall-Washington Wizards (9,500):  With Westbrook, Curry, Lillard, and Paul all getting the night off, the big name at PG tonight is John Wall. Wall is the only player over 9K at the PG spot, and he has been playing well enough to be worth the price over his last few games. Wall had 25-1-13 (points-rebounds-assists) for 47.7 fantasy points last night against the Nets and has at least 42 fantasy points in each of his last four games and seven of his last eight. Last night he got the best matchup in the NBA for opposing PG as he faced the Nets, but tonight he’ll face the Magic who have tightened up defensively since putting D.J. Augustin in the starting lineup. With Wall on the second night of back-to-back games, there is a risk he’ll play reduced minutes, but he played 39 and 37 minutes in his last back-to-back set so that isn’t too much of a concern. Wall should be in a place to turn in his fifth straight double-double and I’d be surprised if he doesn’t get to 40 fantasy points tonight..

Goran Dragic-Miami Heat (7,000): Dragic and the Heat come back home after a 2-1 road trip which is actually a pretty good result given all their injury issues. Dragic has been playing expanded minutes since returning from his own injury and has stepped up with big games for Miami since they’ve been missing so many offensive contributors. Tonight, he’ll be looking for his fifth straight game with at least 32 fantasy points. He had his best game of the season in the Heat’s last home game when he posted 55.9 fantasy points on 27-2-17 and had 38.8 and 39.8 in his last two games. Look for Dragic to step up in his head-to-head with Derrick Rose while also limiting the Knicks’ PG who is a stay-away option for me since the Heat do such a good job shutting down opposing PG.∗∗

Rajon Rondo-Chicago Bulls (6,200): Rondo was suspended for last night’s game after “conduct detrimental to the team.” He was detrimental to fantasy teams on Saturday night too when he only managed 4.4 fantasy points in an ugly showing against his former team in Dallas. Rondo was rolling before that with at least 31 fantasy points in six straight and a massive 51.2 fantasy points on Friday against Cleveland when he had 15-11-12 and three steals. Tonight, he’ll take on the still-recovering Reggie Jackson and Ish Smith. He should be rested and ready to jump right back in tonight, and I like him to play a key role in Detroit tonight. ∗∗∗
