The Golden State Warriors executed a flawless alley-oop to Kevin Durant out of a jump ball in Monday’s game against the Indiana Pacers.

On a night where the Golden State Warriors were up by 30 points at halftime behind 40 first half points from Klay Thompson, the league’s deadliest offense was in full Death Star mode.

Actually, that doesn’t even do it justice. Remember in the new Star Wars movie when they came up with that Starkiller Base that could wipe out multiple planets at once, only it wasn’t as cool because it was 100 percent derivative of the original Death Star?

The 2016-17 Warriors offense is like the unbridled power of the Starkiller Base, only if it were just as cool and original as the first Death Star.

That’s really the only plausible way to describe a sequence like this that started with a Zaza Pachulia jump ball and took about five seconds to unfold:

Pachulia wins the jump ball, tapping it back to Draymond Green. Green wastes no time, launching the ball down the court like a quarterback to a cutting Stephen Curry.

The pass is a little long, but Curry, sensing his defender closing in on him and teammate Kevin Durant trailing the play, simply lobs the ball backward in the air before his feet even hit the ground, setting up KD for the perfect alley-oop…all without a single dribble.

I mean, come on. You can’t do this kind of stuff in NBA Jam! This is like an NBA Street game-breaker on steroids!

With Klay Thompson up to a career-high 60 points with 1:50 left in the third quarter still, the Warriors might let the starters ride this one out despite their 30+ lead.

Head coach Steve Kerr may choose to do the smart thing and call it a night, but Kobe Bryant’s 81-point game is within reach for Klay and the Warriors offense is absolutely HUMMING.

With highlight plays like this showing up on the radar, the Dubs probably owe it to basketball fans still watching — and loving every second of — this late-night massacre to put the starters back in and see just how historic this night can get.
