The Heisman Trophy race seems to be between two quarterbacks from the ACC – Lamar Jackson and DeShaun Watson – but fans looking for the most genuine reaction to their nomination need to look no further than the other three finalists  in Baker Mayfield, Jabrill Peppers and Dede Westbrook.

It’s hard not to watch this entire video below and smile, but towards the end where Baker Mayfield and Dede Westbrook are chatting on FaceTime and discussing their New York City plans is rather cool. This will be the first time since 2005, with USC quarterback Matt Leinart and running back Reggie Bush, where two teammates will both be on stage for the Heisman Trophy ceremony.

Watch the Heisman invite reactions of Mayfield, Westbrook and also Michigan’s Jabrill Peppers below.

Westbrook also had a touching moment with his mother over the phone. The Oklahoma receiver repeated to his friend’s that his mother plans to look so classy, people will mistake her for Michelle Obama.

It just goes to show you how much this moment means to the players but also their close family and friends.

It’s going to be tough for any of these three players to win the Heisman over Jackson or Watson, but they’ve all had great seasons. Mayfield threw for more touchdowns (38) than either of the two ACC quarterbacks. He also racked up 3,669 passing yards while completing 71.2 percent of his passes and only threw eight interceptions. His favorite target, Westbrook, caught 16 of those 38 touchdowns and recorded 1,465 receiving yards on 74 receptions.

Peppers was Mr. Everything for Michigan. The linebacker posted 66 total tackles, including 13.0 for loss, 3.0 sacks, one pass defense and an interception. On the offensive side of the ball, Peppers registered 170 yards from scrimmage and five touchdowns. He also returned a punt for a score.

Still, Jackson and Watson remain the favorites. Jackson led the country with 51 total touchdowns, a new FBS record, which Watson set last year. Jackson also accumulated 4,928 yards of total offense, including 3,390 passing yards.

Watson got off to a slow start, but he still finished with 3,914 passing yards, 37 touchdowns and 529 yards with six additional scores on the ground.
