Oakland Raiders outside linebacker Khalil Mack shows why he is so good on this strip sack of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith.

The Oakland Raiders were eventually going to mount a comeback attempt against the arch rival Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday Night Football in Week 14. This game has the potential to decide the AFC West race and earn the winner a first-round bye in the AFC Playoffs.

Down 21-13, Raiders star outside linebacker Khalil Mack would come around the outside and bully  Chiefs left tackle Eric Fisher. Mack would rip past Fisher and get to Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith for a tasty strip sack.

This great defensive play by Mack would set up a short drive for the Raiders to hopefully cut their deficit to the Chiefs. Mack did his part, but the Raiders would struggle to come up with points on that short-field possession.

They could not get into the Kansas City end zone on third and goal. It would set up a Sebastian Janikowski chip-shot field goal attempt. Unfortunately for the Raiders, punter/holder Marquette King could not field the snap cleanly. The field goal attempt was aborted and King was tackled in the Raiders’ back field for a turnover on downs.

The Raiders seem to play their best ball when the game is on the line, particularly in the fourth quarter. Not coming up with points on that forced turnover by Mack might end up being something that will cost the Raiders down the line. Kansas City rarely turns the football over, but has done so twice in the third quarter.
