On Thursday Night Football, the Kansas City Chiefs made a huge statement by beating up on the Oakland Raiders.

13. 28. Final. 21. 124

Thursday Night Football in Week 14 did not fail to live up to the hype. The Kansas City Chiefs pulled off a huge home win, beating the visiting Oakland Raiders 21-13.

As usual, Kansas City found some unique ways to score. Tyreek Hill continued to impress, notching a punt return for a touchdown along with a receiving touchdown. Charcandrick West added a touchdown as well.

In a battle between an elite offense and an elite defense, the defense won. Give credit to Kansas City for being able to significantly limit one of the top five offenses in the NFL.

Raiders QB Derek Carr only had 117 passing yards and one TD, along with an interception. Meanwhile, Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith did well, throwing for 264 yards and one touchdown, but he also turned the ball over twice thanks to an interception and a strip sack by Khalil Mack.

Highlights

Three Stars

1. Tyreek Hill

For the second consecutive game against an AFC West opponent, Tyreek Hill proved to be a significant difference maker. Hill got a receiving touchdown and a punt return touchdown. His electrifying punt return was the highlight of the night for the Chiefs.

2. Alex Smith

For the most part, Alex Smith did exactly what he had to do against the Raiders defense – protect the ball. Yes, he threw an interception, but it was one of his few bad throws on the night. Mack’s strip sack was more of a freak of nature play than Smith making a mistake. He finished with 264 passing yards and a touchdown.

3. Latavius Murray

One of the very few Raiders to accomplish anything against Kansas City, Murray rushed for 103 yards and a rushing touchdown. In the process, he averaged 4.68 yards per carry. Murray also had a rushing touchdown, Oakland’s only touchdown of the game.
