San Antonio Spurs guard Jonathon Simmons missed a fast-break dunk in embarrassing fashion.

There isn’t a basketball team in the world that is better at finding gems than the San Antonio Spurs. Jonathon Simmons has been one of those players that the Spurs have developed into one of their rare finds and it’s paid off for them big time. Against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night, there was an instance where Simmons didn’t look like one of those gems.

As Simmons got out and running for a fast-break dunk, he went up with two hands for the monster jam. Instead, he just jammed it off the back off the hoop and missed the easiest dunk with everyone watching him.

Now, it’s just one play and he’s certainly not the first person in the world to ever miss a dunk, but to do it like that is pretty embarrassing. To make matters worse, he tried to get a little bit of a highlight slam in there instead of just putting it in.

While he did his job and got the big steal to force the dunk, he’s likely going to hear it about it for not just simply putting it in the basket with ease. He’s also likely to get roasted on Shaqtin’ A Fool as well for his efforts.

If he had made it, everyone would have been praising his defensive efforts and the dunk. Unfortunately, that’s just life in the NBA sometimes. The good news is he can always shake it off with a great play in return.
