57. . QB. Notre Dame. DeShone Kizer. 4. player

This past week, Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer declared for the NFL Draft, which was really not to anyone’s surprise. Kizer has been rated as the No. 1 or No. 2 quarterback in this upcoming class, and the Fighting Irish appear to be a program on the decline. He needs to come out when quarterbacks are at a premium, and with the 2018 quarterback class being so strong, the 2017 NFL Draft is his best chance to be picked very high.

The Chicago Bears looked pretty good with Matt Barkley under center the past few weeks, as he has certainly exceeded expectations since taking over for the injured Brian Hoyer and Jay Cutler. However, he is definitely a career backup, so the team needs to find their next franchise player at the position. He may need a year to groom, so going to the Bears would be a great opportunity for him to play behind a player like Hoyer next season.

Kizer has all of the physical tools you want in a quarterback, but his decision-making has come under fire after a mediocre season in South Bend in 2016. Still, he has incredible touch on his ball, and has the arm strength to make all the tough throws at the next level. The Bears need to utilize this pick on selecting Kizer for their future, as he could wind up being the best pro in this draft class down the line.
