Malik Monk absolutely went off against North Carolina on Saturday, and you can see all of his 47 points in a clip below.

Malik Monk has looked every bit as advertised for the Kentucky Wildcats. As a freshman, he has averaged 19.4 points, 2.4 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game through the first month of the season. He has teamed with fellow freshman Bam Adebayo and De’Aaron Fox to make for a formidable Kentucky team that’s one of the best in the nation.

On Saturday evening, Monk and Kentucky would play North Carolina as part of the CBS Sports Classic. This pitted two of the top teams in the country against each other, but also showed off one of the best players with Monk’s elite performance. He had 47 points on 18 for 28 shooting, including hitting the game-leading shot with just seconds, which fans went wild over.

Well, after the game, a video of all 47 points from the 18-year-old’s performance would appear on YouTube. So, you can see every bit of his historic game against the Tar Heels.

That final shot was cold-blooded, and as CBS analyst Bill Rafferty called it, a “dagger.” It may have been one of Kentucky’s best moments of the early season as well.

Monk and the other UK freshmen have led this team to an early top 10 spot in the polls. Unless things go awry as the season continues, they should be mainstays in this position. Then a significant spot in the 2017 NCAA Tournament could be in their future too, which would help coach John Calipari push toward his second national championship in his eight years in Lexington.

The play of Malik Monk will be something to watch going forward, as he makes his case for a spot in the first round of the 2017 NBA Draft. If anything, he may be playing for a selection in the top 10. Is he on his way there or even close to the top five?
