Western Kentucky made sure that we got all the excitement that we needed in the Boca Raton Bowl with this amazing trick play

When it was announced that Western Kentucky and Memphis would be playing in the Boca Raton Bowl, we knew that we’d more than likely be in for some excitement with these two offenses on the same field. So far on Tuesday night, they have not disappointed, especially Western Kentucky who decided to pull out the trickeration.

With the first half winding down and with the Hilltoppers having the lead, it appeared as if they were ready to take a knee and head into the locker room. They lined up to make it look this way, but little did we –nor Memphis, more importantly– know what was about to come.

Western Kentucky quarterback Mike White in fact did not kneel the ball down, rather running back Anthony Wales ended up with the ball and a huge gain for the first down in one of the better trick plays that we have seen this entire season.

Now you would think that would end the craziness here, as Western Kentucky looked in prime position to put the ball in the end zone.

Well, we were wrong.

On the very next play, the Hilltoppers did try to go for the end zone, yes, but it didn’t end as planned. It ended with this amazing interception by Dontrell Nelson.

See, now this is why we love to watch these games during this week. You’re bound to see some insanity here and there, and that’s exactly what this entire sequence was here.
