The Army Black Knights take on the North Texas Mean Green at the 2016 Heart of Dallas Bowl. Not only is the Heart of Dallas Bowl known for high scoring games, but this is the second time these two teams have seen each other in the 2016 season and this matchup is bound to settle a few scores.
Army is riding high after beating rival Navy in their last game of the season with a score of 21-17. They started the season 3-0 but had some solid wins against Temple, Rice and UTEP. The UTEP game was the biggest blowout of the season with Army taking a commanding 66-14 victory. They lost big against Air Force with a score of 31-12, but their biggest loss of the season came with a 44-6 defeat at Notre Dame. The Black Knights just wrapped up their best season in six years, and they’re looking for a bit of payback against North Texas after losing to the Mean Green 35-18 at home on October 22.
North Texas appears at the Heart of Dallas Bowl courtesy of their APR score, which ranks them #10 among the 128 FBS schools and #2 out of the non-eligible teams. First year head coach Seth Littrell has guided the team to four more wins this season than they had last season, and they find themselves at a their first bowl appearance in three years.
