Kansas State players celebrated a Texas Bowl win over Texas A&M by showering head coach Bill Snyder with confetti instead of cold Gatorade.

Bill Snyder has been one of the best coaches in college football for the past couple of decades and he showed how much of a guru he was on Wednesday night by taking down a talented Texas A&M team in the 2016 Texas Bowl.

While that might not seem like the proudest accomplishment of his impressive career at Kansas State, which it’s not, he did something that opened the eyes of just about everyone who follows college football. He out-coached Kevin Sumlin who is considered one of the bright young minds in the country.

Snyder’s legend continues to grow and it’s clear his players love him. Following the 33-28 win, a couple of his players walked behind him with a Gatorade jug, looking to douse the head coach. However, it wasn’t filled with the cold drink, but rather colored confetti.

Obviously drenching the 77-year-old head coach would have likely been a poor decision and this might be the most considerate thing to happen this week in sports. Snyder has earned the respect of his team and it’s pretty cool to see him even crack a smile when he realized that it was confetti that covered his back and not ice-cold Gatorade.

The win was especially sweet given that no one really though the Wildcats stood a chance against a Texas A&M team that was, at one point, considered a national title threat. The talent on the Aggies was immense and Kansas State just out-toughed them.

Sophomore quarterback Jesse Ertz had a big game for the Wildcats, passing for 195 yards and rushing for 67 with three total touchdowns. He helped deliver Snyder his eighth bowl win in his career and first since 2013.

Bask in that confetti, Bill. You earned this.
