Virginia Tech’s Sam Rogers made an incredible one-handed scoring catch in the Belk Bowl against Arkansas

Things in the Belk Bowl for Virginia Tech on Thursday night were not looking good against Arkansas. The Razorbacks took a 24-0 lead into the half and people were ready to write off the Hokies for dead.

However, Justin Fuente had this team ready to roll in the second half, and as the Hokies were making their comeback, we saw one of the better scoring catches of the bowl season.

Following a turnover by Arkansas, the Hokies were ready to take it to the Razorbacks and cut the lead to 24-14. They were able to do that thanks to this amazing catch by Sam Rogers in the end zone.

That was one of the best overall catches that we have seen all season, and it could have have come at a better time for the Hokies. The ACC Coastal champs looked like a laughing stock in the first half, but they’re showing here in the second half just why they were able to make it to the ACC title game in the first season of the Fuente era.

Now, not long after this amazing play, Arkansas would turn the ball over yet again, leading to another Virginia Tech touchdown to make the score 24-21.

It’s looking as if not only is the Belk Bowl off the rails once again, but we could be in store for yet another Arkansas collapse here in the 2016 postseason.
