Former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Cardale Jones is not happy with OSU’s kicker in the 2016 Fiesta Bowl

Cardale Jones is no longer playing for the Ohio State Buckeyes. In fact, he’s currently on the Buffalo Bills roster, waiting for his time to shine. But on Saturday night for New Year’s Eve, he was watching his former college team play in the 2016 Fiesta Bowl against the Clemson Tigers. And after his Buckeyes fell behind, the gunslinger was having absolutely none of it.

The Buckeyes had the chance to strike first in the Fiesta Bowl after a Gareon Conley interception off of Deshaun Watson. Instead, their normally reliable kicker, Tyler Durbin, missed a 47-yard field goal. Clemson then went on to kick a field goal of their own on the ensuing drive, making theirs.

After falling behind, 3-0, Ohio State went on another drive. However, J.T. Barrett and company were once again unable to find their way across the goal line. That again brought Durbin out for a field goal try—and once again, he missed it to keep a goose egg on the board for the Buckeyes. When the Tigers scored again to go up 10-0, Cardale Jones had seen enough. He had this to say on the matter:

In case you were curious if Jones got any happier about what was unfolding in Glendale, AZ at the Fiesta Bowl, the former OSU quarterback later sent out this tweet, ready to offer some advice to the Buckeyes:

You know you might not be playing well in your biggest game of the season when a former player is wanting to go toe-to-toe with the kicker and call down to the sidelines to offer his thoughts.

In fairness to Jones, though, he does have a point. If Durbin had made his two field goal tries, they would’ve been four points behind in the second quarter. That’s far more manageable than falling behind by 10 points, thus needing two scores. Maybe someone ought to actually hit Jones up with that number to sidelines.
