Washington Huskies quarterback Jake Browning had to time throw and found wide receiver Dante Pettis in the back corner of the end zone for a touchdown.

To the surprise of many people, it was the Washington Huskies that started off looking like the dominant team in the Peach Bowl against the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday. After their defense did a stellar job against Jalen Hurts, the Huskies’ offense finally got things going on the second drive of the game.

They drove the football methodically down the field and Jake Browning was showing great awareness on the field by picking up first downs with his legs and hitting his open receivers in stride. His best play of the drive came when he got his team on the board.

As Browning dropped back, his offensive line gave him plenty of room to throw and he found wide receiver Dante Pettis open in the back corner of the end zone. Browning zipped the ball in there perfectly and Pettis had just enough room to get his feet in and give his team the early lead.

There has been a lot of talk about Browning coming into this game and how he has to be on point for the Huskies to have a chance. Throws like this one to Pettis serve as a reminder as to why many people had Browning as a Heisman candidate all season.

When the Huskies needed a spark, their leader gave it to them. This is Browning’s chance to shine and he got off to a fantastic start doing it.
