Two teams in position to do so are certainly Liverpool and Manchester City. Sitting at second and third, respectively, in the table, the two sides can turn it on and with a ton of force. On Saturday, December 31, though, the two clubs will clash at Anfield.
Both Liverpool and Manchester City are winners of their last three Premier League fixtures. Just a point separates the two in the table, meaning three points on Saturday could be critical. For Liverpool, they’ll be looking for Adam Lallana to stay in form as he’s scored three goals in as many games. However, contributions from Daniel Sturridge, Philippe Coutinho, and Sadio Mane would go a long way in helping their attack.
To keep pace with Man City, they’ll need an attack. Sergio Aguero and company are always potent, especially with the strong play in the middle of the pitch from the likes of Kevin De Bruyne. If they can control possession there and continue to press while looking for space ahead, Manchester City could set themselves up nicely against Liverpool. Subsequently, they’ll also put themselves in nice position heading into 2017.
