According to Ian Rapoport, the San Francisco 49ers are expected to fire head coach Chip Kelly and general manager Trent Baalke.

It appears that Chip Kelly’s stay with the San Francisco 49ers is going to be a short one. On Saturday night, Ian Rapoport broke news that the 49ers are expected to fire Kelly and general manager Trent Baalke.

While the 49ers are in the midst of a full-scale rebuild with their roster, the team has only won two games this season and have been a disaster in just about every game they have played. Their only two wins have come over the struggling Los Angeles Rams.

This is the second time in just over a year that Kelly has been fired by an NFL team. After guiding the Oregon Ducks to one of the most explosive offenses in college, Kelly left to try his hand at the NFL.

While he had initial success with the Philadelphia Eagles, things began to fall apart as he dismantled their roster for guys that he believed could fit his system. Instead, he ended up getting rid of guys that helped him win and get to where they started at.

In San Francisco, it’s been quite the year for the team. They don’t have an answer at the quarterback position and they’re going to have a high draft pick. It’s clear that the team is ready to move on from Baalke as well and will have someone else handling the draft, especially if they go with a young quarterback.
