The Minnesota Vikings ended their season on a good note by beating the Chicago Bears.

In Week 17, the Minnesota Vikings beat the Chicago Bears 38-10. Perhaps this is a good sign for the franchise after a disappointing 2016. Sam Bradford threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns, completing 25 of his 33 passes. Running back Jerick McKinnon ran for 89 yards and a rushing touchdown on 16 rushes. He also caught three passes for 21 yards for a receiving touchdown.

Minnesota tight end Kyle Rudolph had 11 receptions for 117 receiving yards and a touchdown. Jarius Wright caught the other touchdown pass from Bradford. Minnesota’s defense dominated the Bears, forcing five turnovers, including three fumbles and two interceptions.

Expected by many to win the NFC North even without Teddy Bridgewater, Minnesota won their first five games. However, they won just three games after their fifth straight win to start the season.

Chicago’s lone touchdown pass was thrown by wide receiver Cameron Meredith. Quarterback Matt Barkley threw two interceptions and lost a fumble, but he did get a receiving touchdown. Jordan Howard ran for 136 yards to complete his impressive rookie campaign.

Three Stars

  1. Kyle Rudolph: Kyle Rudolph showed why he’s one of the top tight ends in the NFL, notching 11 receptions for 117 receiving yards and a touchdown. He’s an important part of what Minnesota does. It’s no wonder Rudolph is one of Bradford’s favorite receivers.
  2. Sam Bradford: Bradford had a rough 2016, but it ended quite well for him. He only threw one interception and completed 25 of his 33 passing attempts. Bradford threw for 250 passing yards and three touchdowns, looking confident and poised in the pocket. If Minnesota needs him to start in 2017, they should be fine.
  3. Jordan Howard: Once again, the Bears running back was one of the very few bright spots for the team. He had yet another 100 yard rushing game, completing the 2016 NFL season with 1,297 rushing yards.
