Winner: Purdue Boilermakers (No. 20 up to No. 17)

It doesn’t really mean much in terms of on-court play, but Purdue wins simply because it has become the top-ranked team in the Big Ten this week. The Boilermakers took down the aforementioned Wisconsin Badgers at home and made it look relatively easy. They held a double-digit lead for most of the second half.

Purdue has now won 10 of its last 11 games and the Boilermakers are looking like true threats to run away with the conference title. The talent is there, but the major advantage this team has over the rest of the Big Ten is that it’s bigger, stronger and tougher than most.

Sophomore sensation Caleb Swanigan recorded his 14th double-double of the season against the Badgers, scoring 18 points and grabbing 13 rebounds, and he might just be the most improved player in the Big Ten. He made the wise decision to come back for his sophomore season and he is improving his draft stock by the day.

Isaac Haas is the team’s second-leading scorer and he is the other half of the twin towers in the post. Swanigan and Haas are a dynamic duo and you can bet no one wants to drive against the Boilermakers with both of them in the lineup.

The Boilermakers are on fire right now and have a chance to run away with the conference as there is not one ranked opponent currently left on their schedule.
