The last couple of weeks haven’t been easy for Rajon Rondo. Once expected to be a big part of the new-look Chicago Bulls with Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade — remember the “three alphas” spiel? — the last time he played was on Dec. 30 against the Indiana Pacers when he recorded zero points, one assist, one rebound, one turnover and three personal fouls in 10 minutes of action.

Since then, Rondo has received five straight DNP’s courtesy of his head coach Fred Hoiberg.

To rub salt in the wound, Monday night’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder happened to coincide with Rondo bobblehead night and all he could do was watch his team lose from the bench behind 21 points, 14 assists and 9 rebounds from Russell Westbrook. Michael Carter-Williams started in Rondo’s place, and the duo of Jerian Grant and Isaiah Canaan combined to play 29 minutes off the bench.

In fact, Rondo was the only player on the Bulls roster (!) who failed to log a single minute of action even though they trailed by 15 points heading into the half and ended up losing the game by 15 points. Pretty awkward, huh? You got honored with a bobbling-headed statue and you can’t even get on the floor in a blowout loss.

As CBS Sports’ Ananth Pandian pointed out, people have already started selling their bobbleheads from last night on eBay for as little as $10 and as much as $30. So if you want to remember the game in which Rondo — someone who signed a questionable deal of two-years and $28 million with the Bulls in the offseason — couldn’t get off the bench for his own bobblehead, you now know where to go.
