North Carolina’s Theo Pinson throws down first bucket of season (Video)
North Carolina Tar Heels forward Theo Pinson returned to the court in style with a huge dunk for his first points of the year.
If the North Carolina Tar Heels didn’t look good enough already this season, they got an added boost on Saturday. With the Florida State Seminoles in town, the Tar Heels welcomed back forward Theo Pinson to the lineup.
Pinson had missed the beginning of the season with a broken foot. There were some concerns about how his foot would affect his game and whether or not it would prevent him from being able to get any lift. He put those concerns to rest with his first bucket of the year.
As Pinson got space and a wide-open lane to the hoop, he put down a monstrous dunk for his first points of the year. If anyone was still worried that his foot might not allow him to get any lift, Pinson made sure everyone knew that he was just fine.
The dunk apparently got him going on the floor. After getting the big dunk, Pinson began to wake up on offense and even hit a big three. It was as if finding his old self was exactly what he needed to get back in a groove.
The Tar Heels want to go on a run through the ACC and will need all the help that they can get in such a tough conference. Getting the added boost of having an explosive player like Pinson back will help them go a long way toward achieving their goals this year.
