In the season premiere of Homeland, Carrie Matheson returns to the United States to face a clear and present danger. Here’s how to watch it online.

After a year-long hiatus, Homeland is back on the air. During its first two seasons, it was a ratings and awards juggernaut. Claire Danes won best actress in both those years, while the series won best drama for its first season. While the accolades have cooled off considerably since then, it’s still going strong heading into its sixth season.

Homeland’s last two seasons were spent abroad — season 4 took place in Afghanistan, while season 5 was in Berlin. But this time, Carrie Matheson will be situated in the United States. Perhaps the showrunners are trying to make a political statement by saying the US currently presents the biggest global threat, but everything appears to be business as usual.

Showtime actually released the premiere of Homeland online two weeks ago, meaning a good chunk of people may have already seen it. That may not bode well for their ratings, but people who haven’t seen it yet, or already forgot what happened, should tune in.

Here’s the official synopsis for “Fair Game”:

"Season 6 begins with Carrie returning home to the U.S. with Franny to work as an advocate for Muslim Americans. Meanwhile, Dar and Saul brief President-elect Keane; and Quinn struggles with his new circumstances."
