Manchester United and Liverpool played out an entertaining 1-1 draw at Old Trafford Sunday. Here are all the highlights from the match.

Manchester United faced Liverpool at Old Trafford Sunday with both clubs looking to continue their fine run of Premier League form. United haven’t lost a league game since Dec. 4, while Liverpool are undefeated since Dec. 11.

It looks like United have bought into Jose Mourinho’s system and have been pleased to be back to winning ways, for now. Jurgen Klopp’s men will provide a tough test compared to what United have been use to this past month.

Recap

After an energetic Liverpool start, United started to take control and went close when Henrikh Mkhitaryan played Paul Pogba through on goal. The Frenchman could only drag his shot wide under pressure from Ragnar Klavan.

Liverpool took the lead from the penalty spot when Pogba clumsily handled the ball when challenging for a header with Dejan Lovren. James Milner converted to David De Gea’s left. United went close twice more — Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw his powerful free-kick saved by Simon Mignolet, before Mkhitaryan was also denied by the Liverpool keeper — but the Reds made it to the break with their advantage intact.

The second half began with Jose Mourinho bringing on Wayne Rooney for Michael Carrick. The attacking sub was a sign of things to come as United poured forward in attack pushing Liverpool backwards. The Reds looked to have weathered the storm, however, and when Philippe Coutinho was introduced for Divock Origi they even started to reassert control.

But United’s commitment in attack eventually paid dividends. Marouane Fellaini, introduced for Mateo Darmian, saw his header come back off the post, before the ball was recycled and Ibrahimovic turned in to level the score. It was frenetic second half, with both sides pushing forward desperate to win the game, but a point a piece feels like a fair result overall.
