After the Patriots wide receiver criticized the Steelers for their post game locker room incident last weekend, Big Ben laid the smackdown.

By now, it’s the locker room speech heard around the world. After Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown put out a video filmed in the locker room following Sunday’s AFC Divisional playoff win — one that included an expletive filled speech from head coach Mike Tomlin — plenty of people have chimed in on what they saw.

One of those was a member of the Steelers’ next opponents. New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman made a comment saying, “that’s how that team is run,” once again using a holier than thou thought pattern that makes people hate the team from Foxborough.

Well, Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was not going to take those comments sitting down and responded with a verbal smackdown you wouldn’t expect from Big Ben (from NBC Sports’ Pro Football Talk):

"“I don’t think I need to speak much,” Roethlisberger answered when asked what he’d say to Edelman. “We’ve got our trophies out there. I’ve got owners that I think are the best in the business. They’re family to us, and I’m sure if he talked to his owner, he would say the same thing about the Rooneys. Anybody in here in the football world or the regular world that owns the Rooneys knows what they stand for. It’s a blessing to call them a family.”"

There is no doubt that many involved in the league — fans, players, or coaches — will side with Ben on this one that the Steelers are a much better run organization in many ways than the Patriots. Edelman and the Patriots still have a long way to go to get on that level, even with four Super Bowls over the previous 15 seasons entering 2016.
