Philadelphia 76ers guard Nik Stauskas drove right through the Atlanta Hawks defense and dunked over Thabo Sefolosha on Saturday.

Earlier in the first quarter of the Philadelphia 76ers and Atlanta Hawks’ Saturday night game, Nik Stauskas threw down a highlight reel dunk. The Sixers shooting guard drove right through the key and dunked on Hawks’ small forward Thabo Sefolosha. The dunk gave the 76ers a 9-6 lead in the earlier minutes of the first quarter.

Using a Jahill Okafor screen, Stauskas drove right down the middle of the key for an easy dunk over top of Hawks defender Thabo Sefolosha. No Hawks’ player even contested the player known as “Sauce Castillo,” as he drove right past a pair of flat-footed Hawks’ defenders.

Sefolosha left his man on the left block and attempted to get to the right side of the rim to prevent the dunk. But the Swiss-born Sefolosha could not get to the other side of the lane fast enough. Stauskas took off and threw it down with one hand.

Unfortunately, there were a lot of empty seats in Atlanta, meaning quite a few people missed the highlight reel dunk. Cameras showed the two sections directly behind the 76ers’ bench to have very few people in them. As Stauskas slammed it over Sefolosha, every player on the Philadelphia bench got up to celebrate along the sideline.

Stauskas is in his third NBA season and second with the 76ers. The Mississauga, Ontario native and former Michigan Wolverine has played in 39 games this season, starting 14. Stauskas is averaging almost 26 minutes per game, and 8.5 points per game.

The 76ers entered the game with a 15-26 record. But the team has been on a roll since the calendar changed from 2016 to 2017, winning eight of their last 10 games. The Hawks remain in the playoff hunt in the Eastern Conference with a 25-18 record.
