The Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers got annihilated in their respective Championship Games, but where does it rank among the worst NFL playoff blowouts.

It’s been weird watch the NFL playoffs this year. While the parity in the league was never more clear than it was this year, the postseason has featured one close game and a handful of blowouts.

That’s not what football fans are used to seeing, but it’s not a new thing. Playoff blowouts aren’t commonplace in the NFL but they’ve happened to even the best the game has ever seen.

Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers didn’t have much success in Foxborough against the Patriots. While it was tighter on paper than the game in Atlanta, it was still a blowout to go with all the rest.

Aaron Rodgers may be licking his wounds after a 44-21 shelling in Atlanta, but he’s in surprisingly good company when it comes to other NFL stars who have been involved in lopsided playoff blowouts.

5. Jets 41, Colts 0 — 2001 AFC Wild Card Game

The most significant thing about this blowout is that it was the last time Peyton Manning ever took this kind of a beating in the playoffs while with the Colts. Manning would be on the receiving end of a devastating blowout in the Super Bowl with the Broncos, but that was over a decade after the Jets took him behind the woodshed in a 41-0 beatdown.

Perhaps the most impressive thing about that blowout is that it was handed to Manning by Chad Pennington. Let that one marinate for a while.
