Miami Heat guard Dion Waiters hit a three with time running out to defeat the Golden State Warriors.

The Miami Heat have had a down season but have began to go on a winning streak lately as they continue to get healthy. On Monday night, Dion Waiters stepped up and put together one of the finest performances of his career against the Golden State Warriors. With the Warriors having erased a deficit to tie the game with 11 seconds remaining, Waiters went to work.

With no timeouts remaining and the Heat having to run a play, they let the guy with the hottest hand take the shot. Waiters wasted no time once he got the ball in his hand and unloaded a heat check three as time ran out. He hit nothing but net and less than a second was left on the clock.

Stephen Curry didn’t have enough time left to get off a good shot and the Heat won a thriller of a game as they try to get back into thick of things. While they may be too far down in the standings for that, it was an emotional win for a team that wanted a signature victory to hang their hat on.

Every time the Warriors tried to mount a comeback against Miami, Waiters would respond with a big three. The two teams went into the half tied, but it was Waiters that got hot while the tired Warriors just tried to hold on.

Give credit for the Warriors for erasing a double-digit lead late in the game on tired legs, but they waited way too long to get it going. Every now and then Waiters goes off for one of these games and he was up for the challenge against the team with the best record in the NBA.
