Michigan State freshman Miles Bridges has made it clear, he is the best dunker in the Big Ten.

Although there are many great freshman in the Big Ten, Miles Bridges has consistently proved that he’s the best. His numbers prove as much, leading all newcomers with 15.1 points per game.

The next crown he’s after, is that of “best dunker” in the Big Ten. Against Purdue on Tuesday night, he may have solidified his place.

With just over 10 minutes left in regulation and his team down 59-51, Bridges caught a put-back dunk for the ages.

Judging from the video, you can see why the dunk was so breathtaking. Not only did he throw it down with incredible authority, but he had to reach five feet back to even get to it.

Despite the dunk, Michigan State went on to lose the game 84-73 to Purdue.

On the bright side, Bridges did lead all scorers with 33 points. He played very efficiently, scoring his 33 points on 12-17 shooting, including 5-8 from three-point land. In addition to his monster scoring output, Bridges recorded seven rebounds and four blocked shots.

As mighty as Miles Bridges dunk versus Purdue was, some would argue that it was his second-best dunk of the year. On January 4th against Rutgers, he threw down an alley-oop that could be the best dunk in all of college basketball. (Roll the tape)

Even with Bridges doing all that he can to help Michigan State, the Spartans have been inconsistent this year. The loss to Purdue dropped Michigan State’s record to a pedestrian 12-9, making it the first time in years that they’re in danger of missing the NCAA Tournament.

If Michigan State does in fact miss the “Big Dance”, it would be the first time doing so since Tom Izzo’s second year as the Spartans head coach (1996-97).
