The Washington Wizards intend to wear all black to their rematch against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night.

With the Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics rivalry building, the Wizards are taking things to the next level. Prior to Tuesday night’s rematch against Boston, John Wall and company plan to arrive at the Verizon Center wearing black clothes from head to toe.

Wall has spearheaded the movement, even giving some insight about what the dress code signifies. When asked about it by reporters, he responded, “All black everything. A funeral.”

No surprise here, it seems that John Wall despises the Boston Celtics. In their last matchup, a 117-108 Celtics win, Wall and Celtics forward Jae Crowder engaged in a minor skirmish after the final buzzer sounded. After arguing, Crowder appeared to poke Wall in the nose, prompting Wall to throw a left-hand in retaliation.

According to ESPN, the two teams continued to yell at each other once leaving the court. In turn, the staff at TD Garden enlisted five Boston Police Department members to make sure nothing else happened. For their roles in the fight, Jae Crowder was fined $25,000 and John Wall was fined $15,000.

When asked by Mass Live about the Wizards plan to dress for the Celtics “funeral”, Crowder took the high road, for the most part. Although, he called their matching outfits “cute”, he went on to say that the Celtics were “just gonna play basketball”.

Although, the Celtics won the last matchup, the Wizards prevailed in their first meeting of the year. With the season series tied 1-1, it’s safe to say that Tuesday nights game will be high intensity and very chippy. With all the publicity this game is getting before tip-off, it’s a shame that it’s not on national television. It will be broadcast in local markets on CSN and if you are a subscriber, NBA League Pass.
