New Prey gameplay trailer and release date confirmed

The upcoming new Prey reboot has a release date. We also got a brand-new gameplay trailer that’s awesome.

The reboot of Prey was announced at E3 2016 during the Bethesda Press Conference. The announcement came out of nowhere, but it was definitely a pleasant surprise since we’ve been waiting for a new Prey game for a long time.

This first entry in the series was released back in 2006. Being developed by Human Head Studios, a sequel to the game was in the works for quite some time. However, eventually, the plans fell through and we didn’t hear about the game for a few years.

As stated before, the announcement of the reboot caught us off guard, but in a good way. We can’t think of a better developer than Arkane Studios to create the game. Having Bethesda Softworks as a developer definitely helps as well.

Looking at the gameplay trailers, you can see some inspiration from games like Fallout. But, there’s no secret that this is an all new beast and the adventure that we’ll go on will be like no other.

In Prey, you’ll play as Morgan Yu. You’re on board an alien-infested space station and you must fight your way through a horde of a deadly alien species known as Typhon. But, on this journey, many mysteries will begin to unravel.

Not only will you learn secrets about the infestation, but you’ll learn more about yourself and your identity.

The new trailer does a great job at getting you excited. The tension is there, compared to the other trailers, and it’s our best look at the game yet. The best part is that we finally have a release date.

Prey will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 5, 2017.
