Stephen Curry proved that he’s a human cheat code yet again when he hit a half-court shot to beat the first half buzzer against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Even on a Golden State Warriors team with four superstars in the starting lineup, Stephen Curry is arguably their most important player. It’s a testament to his skill, which was on full display against the Los Angeles Clippers Saturday night.

Through the first half, Curry had a team-high 18 points. He went 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, but he saved his best shot for last. With the clock winding down, Curry faked out Jamal Crawford with a behind-the-back dribble, then heaved up a prayer before the buzzer from half-court. The shot was good, and the Warriors took a 21-point stranglehold at the half:

After Curry unanimously won the MVP last year, we thought we had seen it all. But as it turns out, he’s still capable of making incredible plays like this when he so chooses. It only helps the NBA marketing-wise when one of their biggest stars does this in a big game.

Prior to tip-off, there was chatter that Curry wasn’t going to suit up for this contest. It sounded like the Warriors would rest him, thinking they wouldn’t need him against the Clippers’ depleted backcourt. But now that Curry is playing, he’s showing off the various ways he makes the Warriors’ offense tick.

You also couldn’t fault Steph for wanting to play against the Clippers — it’s a matchup that he’s always gotten up for. In their first meeting this season, he had 19 points and seven steals. And in years past, some of his best ever highlights have come against the Clippers. Well now, you can add this half-court buzzer beater, and his awesome celebration, to that growing list.
