Following a week full of upsets, how do the top 25 teams in college basketball stack up?

The races for conference titles and top seeds in the NCAA Tournament have been shaken up following the craziest week of college basketball action in recent memory.

Seven teams in ranked in the top 10 of the AP Poll heading into Week 12 suffered defeats, including a number of upsets at the hands of unranked squads. Only Gonzaga, Baylor and Arizona escaped the week unscathed, with the Bulldogs taking over the top spot in the new poll.

Those three teams plus Kansas and Villanova have separated themselves ever so slightly from the rest of the field. However, a number of teams could be among the title contenders heading into March, with the likes of Virginia and Louisville lurking just behind.

Here’s how the top 25 teams in the nation stand heading into Week 13 of the 2016-17 college basketball season.

25. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

While the Fighting Irish still own a solid overall profile, a recent slide has dropped them to the fringes of the top 25.

Notre Dame lost its third straight game with an 84-74 loss at home to Duke on Monday night. All three defeats came within the span of six days, as the Fighting Irish also dropped games to Virginia and Georgia Tech over the course of the week.

The Yellow Jackets might be considered the only “bad” loss on Notre Dame’s resume, but Mike Brey has some work to do to get his team back in the ACC race with a 6-4 mark in conference play and 17-6 record overall. After a hot shooting stretch carried Notre Dame early on, the Fighting Irish went just 3-of-18 from beyond the arc against Virginia and were only slightly better against the Yellow Jackets.

While the offense still ranks 17th in adjusted efficiency per Ken Pomeroy’s ratings, Notre Dame will drop a few games due to a defense that ranks just 65th. Duke shot nearly 52 percent from the field in Monday’s win, leaving little margin for error for the Fighting Irish offense.

The Fighting Irish remain a dangerous team thanks to their terrific perimeter offense. Brey will face a challenge to get the team back on track, as Notre Dame heads to Chapel Hill on Saturday evening.
