High Salary SG

James Harden-Houston Rockets (12,200): If you’re going with a big-money guard, my favorite pick of the top tier is definitely “the Beard” even though he’s coming off a oddly quiet game in Indiana.  Against the Pacers, Harden surprised his owners by totaling just 15-5-8 for 36.25 fantasy points in 32 minutes. He shot a woeful 3-17 from the field and just 2-10 from deep. He more than doubled that output on Friday when he went off for 51-13-13 and 97.75 fantasy points. He has at least 58 fantasy points in seven of his last nine games, and he also posted two solid games against the Kings earlier this season with 23-9-10 and 15-11-14. While neither of those stat lines are enough to make him worth this price tonight, he should bounce back in his first home game in over a week.∗∗

C.J. McCollum-Portland Trail Blazers (7,600): McCollum and the Blazers host the Hornets tonight who have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing SG over their last five games and the seventh-most on the season. McCollum  didn’t have a lot of success in their last meeting with 18-2-1 with four steals for 31 fantasy points against them in their last meeting but he has put up at least 36 fantasy points in three of his last four games including an impressive 35-2-3 In Boston for 49.5 fantasy points. He had 28-7-3 for 43.75 fantasy points against Golden State in his last game and will look to build off tonight.

Nicolas Batum-Charlotte Hornets (7,400): On the other side of that matchup tonight, Batum is on track for a possible revenge game in Portland where he played the first seven seasons of his NBA career.  Batum has been putting together nice, balanced numbers lately with at least 35 fantasy points in four of his last five and six of his last eight. He had 19-7-7 against the Kings last Saturday, and he should be a little extra-montivated to be aggressive tonight. When He faced the Blazers a couple weeks ago, he had 17-7-7 for 36.25 fantasy points, and I think that’s his floor tonight with plenty of upside on top of that.
