With pitchers and catchers reporting to Spring Training, it’s time to start thinking about MLB Opening Day 2017.

It may still be winter, but Major League Baseball teams are flocking to Florida and Arizona to start spring training ahead of Opening Day 2017. Though every team begins the new season with a fresh start, the Chicago Cubs will be looking for a repeat of their magical 2016 season. Of course, that also means there are 29 other teams looking to unseat the World Series Champions.

So when is the big day? Opening Day is so big it has been split into two days.

The regular season kicks off on April 2 with three games scheduled on Sunday, followed by 13 games played the following Monday. ESPN will broadcast the three Sunday games, including the 2016 World Series Champion Cubs’ Opening Day game against the Cardinals in St. Louis. That game falls in the coveted Sunday Night Baseball time slot at 8:30 p.m. ET.

The other two Sunday games include the San Francisco Giants at Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Yankees at Tampa Bay Rays. These two games are important because the Rays and Diamondbacks franchises are celebrating their 20th anniversaries in the league, having been part of the 1997 MLB expansion.

Monday’s schedule is packed with 13 games, including the American League Champion Cleveland Indians traveling to Texas to take on the Rangers.
