It’s a top-heavy Pac-12 this year as three teams are vying for the top spot in this week’s Pac-12 Power Rankings.

Arizona, Oregon and UCLA are the three Pac-12 teams still alive for the conference championship and those three teams vie for the top spot in the Pac-12 Power Rankings.

The three teams will now settle their differences over the next few weeks and even then, it may not be settled until the conference tournament. With first and third place separated by just two games, the final leg of the conference season will be filled with drama and fun.

However, we start at the bottom of the barrel with Oregon State who kicks off this week’s Pac-12 Power Rankings.

12

Oregon State Beavers

Last week: 4-22 (0-13 Pac-12)
Last rank: 12

Stop me if you’ve heard this before. Oregon State came into the weekend as the only winless team in conference play and walked out as the only winless team in conference play. Well, guess what, it happened again. This past weekend, the Beavers went out to Los Angeles and promptly got beat by both USC and UCLA. While none of that surprises anybody that Oregon State lost to both of those tourney-bound teams.

Here we are in the middle of February and the Beavers are the only school from a major conference that doesn’t have a win in conference play. There is some good news for the Beavers, they get Colorado at home this coming week so it’s possible that things may be looking up soon. At least I think they are

11

Washington Huskies

Last week: 9-16 (2-11 Pac-12)
Last rank: 11

The nose dive for Washington’s season continues as this past week, the Huskies struggled again and like the Beavers were not competitive against their foes for the week. What makes matters worse is that an altercation occurred on Thursday night as Huskies forward Malik Dime slapped a Colorado student that had been verbally harassing the Washington players. This is just the latest in bad misfortunes that have come to the Huskies program. Add in the fact that they’ve struggled to be competitive, Lorenzo Romar’s run in Seattle is coming to an ugly end.
