Vince Young: 5 teams that should sign him
By Greg Patuto
1. San Francisco 49ers
After a season that saw them beat only one team, and they did it twice, the 49ers cleaned house. they fired Chip Kelly and hired Kyle Shanahan to be their new head coach. Colin Kaepernick has likely player his last game in a Niners uniform.
Now, the positives. The Niners hold the second pick in the draft and a lot of mock drafts have them taking North Carolina quarterback Mitch Trubisky. Like I mentioned before, there are some teams that just need good football players. Assuming the Browns take Garrett off the board at one, the Niners should take Allen off the board at two and start to build the defense.
It is no mystery that Shanahan is an offensive coach. As offensive coordinator of the Falcons this season, he led them to over 500 points and a Super Bowl appearance. He has to have a plan on how to make this offense score the ball. The quarterback just has to be placed in.
Kirk Cousins is going to get a deal done with the Redskins and there are few other options to sign in free agency. None of these quarterbacks in the draft are worth a second overall pick so where do they go? Vince Young.
Putting Young alongside players like Carlos Hyde and Jeremy Kerley make the most sense because of the coach they just hired. Shanahan has no experience as a head coach so he will get cut some slack. If he goes out and signs Young and it works, he’s a genius. If it doesn’t work, then you’re in the same exact spot you’re in right now.

The Niners offense will be improved but they are another team that should save money and take a chance on a veteran. Again, why not?
