Bill Nye has weighed in on Kyrie Irving’s belief the Earth is flat.

Four days ago, Kyrie Irving was asked to appear as a guest on Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye’s podcast, “Road Trippin’.” On that podcast, Irving broke the internet when he stated he believes the Earth is flat.

Irving went on to confirm that statement in an interview on All-Star Weekend, leading many people to rethink their stance on college players becoming eligible for the NBA after only one year in college.

LeBron James and Draymond Green also got in on the act as Green stated that, “I don’t know. I haven’t done enough research, but it may be flat.” James, on the other hand, remained neutral on the situation, saying “Kyrie is my little brother, if he decides the Earth is flat, that’s okay.”

Naturally, when something of this nature occurs, the world needed the opinion of the foremost expert on everything awesome, Bill Nye, to deliver his take on the situation. Nye was critical of Irving in an interview with Sports Illustrated’s The Crossover:

We’ve taken enough of the man’s time. For those of you that don’t know, Nye has a new series, Bill Nye Saves the World, that will premiere on April 21 on Netflix. Tune in for a trip down memory lane.

Irving has since admitted it would be scientifically impossible for the world to be flat while laughing about the uproar that this created. In my opinion, he has created a truly stimulating discussion on what topics should be relevant in the media in this day and age.

Now we wait for Conor McGregor or Floyd Mayweather to profess their belief in a green sky.
