Eric Berry

S, Kansas City Chiefs

The safety position used to be a strength for the Chargers, as Eric Weddle would roam the middle of the field ready to give out punishment. Well, Weddle is now in Baltimore, and the position has been an absolute train wreck since he left. The Chargers need to address that need this offseason, and where better to look that the hated Kansas City Chiefs.

The Chiefs are on thin ice with Eric Berry, who graciously played under the franchise tag in 2016. He has made it known that  he is not going to do that again, which means the Chiefs are going to have to find cap room if they want to keep him. They may not be able to do that, and a big name like Berry would be a perfect fit in a big city like Los Angeles.

It has been quite some time since the Chargers were able to lure big names to their team via free agency, but the move to Los Angeles may be just what they need to do that. Players love the glitz and glamour of places like LA and New York, as building their brand after football is just as important as what they do on the field during their career. Berry is a pretty level-headed guy, but you have to think that if the Chargers come with a good offer, he will definitely sit down and listen to it.
