John Ross

WR, Washington

The Baltimore Ravens took a step back in 2016, as they just could not play winning football on a consistent basis. As the page turns to 2017, there are plenty of holes to fill on offense, as star wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. has decided to hang them up. They need to find somebody who is going to come in and fill that big-play role, and John Ross of Washington can do just that.

Ross had a breakout season in Washington, helping lead his team to the College Football Playoff. Playing in the Pac-12, Ross consistently made big plays for the Huskies, showing the ability to make the big catch in space. He has incredible speed, and has recently been clocked at 4.3 in the 40-yard dash. Smith is going to be hard to replace, but Ross has the attitude to do just that in Baltimore.

The Ravens need to bring in weapons on offense, as quarterback Joe Flacco is starting to get up there in age. The window for them to return to the Super Bowl has to be getting smaller, and they cannot afford another season like they had last year. The defense should be solid in 2017, though it could use help in the secondary, and with Flacco still in his prime, they should have a shot in a very tight AFC North next season.
