Solomon Thomas

DL, Stanford

The Washington Redskins go into the offseason with a bunch of things to cross off on their checklist. The main thing they need to do is lock up their quarterback, as Kirk Cousins played with the franchise tag on him in 2016. He has said that he is willing to do that again, but with the quarterback position being very thin in the NFL, they need to get him his long-term deal as soon as possible.

On defense, the line has been a sore point in recent years, and they need to spend their 2017 first round pick on someone who can clog up the middle. Far too often the team put up a bunch of points, only to see their defense run all over. The offensive line also needs some help, but the defensive line has to be a priority when they make their selection at No. 17 in April.

Solomon Thomas is a great defensive line prospect, and comes in only second to Jonathan Allen of Alabama. He is a great kid, who has so much love for the game of football. His passion for the game will play well in Washington, where the fan base is one of the best in football. If the Redskins can bolster their roster up front on both sides of the ball, they could once again be challenging for an NFC East title in 2017.
