A Boise State fan came to the aid of a basketball that got stuck in the shot clock.

Basketball heroes don’t always wear capes.

Take a young fan at a Boise State home game, who came to the aid of a basketball that became wedged in between the shot clock. During Bosie State’s home game against Fresno State, a Bulldogs player attempted a turnaround jumper. But the ball bounced high off the rim, so high, in fact, that the ball became stuck in the shot clock.

Originally, the ball was thought to be off the backboard and sailed out of bounds, but when the official at the game looked up, he noticed the ball in a precarious position. This is one of the rare times that this has happened, and nobody at the game knew how to get the ball unstuck from the shot clock.

The first person to try their luck at getting the ball down was Fresno State redshirt freshman Lasaro Rojas, who used one of the court moppers to try and get the ball down. When that didn’t work, a Bosie State fan came up with a brilliant idea.

Let his young son attempt to free the ball.

So, the dad brought his son to the basket, allowed him to climb up the basket and free the ball. Did he do it? Of course he did, and he became the instant hero of the night in Boise. We can just imagine that the little boy will be all over the tube tonight as a feel good moment in college basketball.

As we said, not all heroes wear capes and are adults. This hero just wanted to save his basketball, and he did just that.

Let’s just hope that his mother doesn’t kill his father when they get home.
